Pilot Training

In Order to take up flying as a career, one has to be a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holder. Commercial Pilot is expected to be well trained and medically fit to take responsibility of carrying passengers and cargo along while flying. Therefore, the process of becoming a commercial pilot incorporates rigorous ground classes and flight training as well as complete medical fitness.

BELOW ARE PRIMARILY ASPECTS OF CPL COURSE

Documentation

Some documentation is required before writing exams as well as before commencing flying training. The major aspects of the documentation include:
a. Medical assessment: – class II medical assessment is required before commencing flying training. There are numerous DCGA approved class II examiners. You can refer to the list Medical examiners list for details. Once you have the class II Medical assessment in hand, it is advisable to undergo class I medical assessment. This will ensure that you are medically fit to fly as a Commercial Pilot. There are scenarios where student commence flying with class II medical assessment and face issues in clearing Class I medical assessment.
b. Police Verification: an address and antecedent verification is required before commencing the flying training. Usually, police verification for address and antecedent can be requested at district police commissioner office by paying requisite fee and submitting required documents with photographs.
c. Eligibility: Tenth & 10+2 marks sheet Verification
d. Seeking Computer number: Computer number is the reference file number against which your exams status is accounted.

Theory Exams

Five DGCA theory exams need to be cleared.

Radio Telephony Exam

This examination is conducted by Wireless and Planning Cell of Ministry of Communication. The same is about theoretical and practical knowledge of Radio on board the aircraft. This exam is conducted usually six times in a calendar year.

Flying Training

As per regulation, minimum 200 hours of flying training are required. A detail about flying training is covered in requirements.

Test of English Language

An English language test is required to be given that check
the proficiency of the language.
